Fraser Fir
Abies fraseri

The most-bought Christmas tree in America. Most of them ride a truck out of North Carolina.
Abies fraseri is endemic to the high Southern Appalachians of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. It is the dominant US Christmas tree, about a quarter of the market and most of the trees shipped across state lines. Scottish botanist John Fraser collected it in the 1780s and the name stuck.
